Black Forest

When viewed from the summit of Pikes Peak, the Black Forest looks like a large black mass. Hence the name "Black Forest". Since much of this area is located in unincorporated El Paso County many of the homes in the area rely on well and septic for water and sewer. The major zip code in Black Forest Colorado Springs is 80908 and the area is home to the Black Forest Regional Park.

People generally live in the Black Forest because they are seeking privacy, love the trees or want to have their horses close by. The vast majority of the homes are on 2.5 to 5 acre lots. Whatever the reason, this area is very popular. The Black Forest is so large it covers several school districts; Academy School District 20, Falcon School District 49 and Lewis Palmer School District 38.

In the summer of 2013, this area suffered the Black Forest Fire, a massive wildfire which burned thousands of acres and destroyed almost 500 homes. The rebuilding of this area has already started and this is a great area to consider for building a new home. Black Forest, Colorado is a great place to look to build a new home or search for land for sale.

The community has a small town feel. There are few brick and mortar businesses in the Forest but there is easy access to anything you need!
